Record entries for Amsterdam 7s
The Amsterdam 7s has attracted more than 10 international women’s rugby sides in a competition featuring 24 teams.
It is a record number of women’s entries for the women’s event with the pick of the bunch being the Canadian team who have already won two major 7s titles this year in Las Vegas and Hong Kong.
The title holders of the tournament are the Netherlands who have entered a senior team and a development side.
There is a strong mix of experienced international sides as well as developing nations.
The entrants include Canada, Netherlands, Spain who were runners up last year plus Italy,Germany, Belgium, Norway Portugal, Russia, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Brazil.
There are also a range of representative teams who should also provide strong competition with teams such as Richmond, Wooden Spoons and Esprit Sevens all entered.
The competition takes place over the weekend of May 22nd.
