ABOUT US
At AAC everyone is invited to play the game and train with one of our teams. We cater for Senior (very senior) as well as all youth teams and ladies too. Through it’s long history, many nationalities have turned out for the AAC Rugby Club. At the last count, we had over 15 different nationalities in the Mens & Women’s section.
As any serious sporting club we are looking for players that want to start playing the game or players that would like to develop their game. Experience is not important, enthusiasm is.
Today, the club is a diverse international community consisting of 500 enthusiastic members across three men’s, two ladies’ teams, and a thriving youth section. Throughout the season, thousands more visit the club to play, watch and celebrate rugby. The club has enjoyed plenty of recent success, but has big ambitions for the coming seasons.
YOUTH
Our youth section continues to develop young talent, with an extensive focus on growing the department.
WOMEN
The women have been the dominant force in Netherlands ladies' rugby in recent times, and have been national champions many times. Many players are part of the national selection to Dubai.
MEN
Our men’s team are at the start of an exciting new project, with a new-look coaching team and a number of new recruits from across the globe, they have found their way back to the Ereklasse where they’ve historically belonged.
FACILITIES
Clubhouse
Our clubhouse is a great place for us to welcome visitors to AAC and to celebrate or commiserate our match results. A full bar stocked and comfortable seating with views on to our pitches make it an ideal enviroment to enjoy watching a game.
Pitches
AAC has access to the Dutch National Stadium, a state of the art 4G pitch with covered stand for spectators. We also have two other pitches with lighting that we use for training and matches.
Gym
Beneath the stadium is a state of the art gym used by the Dutch National team but also with access for AAC players. We also have access to a number of facilities within Amsterdam where we run dedicated AAC sessions to ensure we are ready to compete.
CHAIRMAN'S
MESSAGE
Jaap van der Linden, Chairman
As I'm writing this text now the first feelings that I have are of pride. for over 40 years I have been with AAC and I have experienced many highs and lows, both on and off the pitch. The past year has definitely been challenging for us as a club and as a community but it has also shown us some of our weaknesses and given us the opportunity to improve on them. I am looking forward to the coming years that I can work together with our board, training staff and all our amazing volunteers to assist all our current and future members in creating some wonderful sporting and social memories together.
I would especially like to wish all our teams the best of luck for the coming season, to the mens team in their fight back the the ereklasse and to the women's team in maintaining their dominance in women's rugby and providing talent to the national side. At the same time we cannot neglect our youth teams and we will all be focussing our efforts in strengthening our youth program to ensure our succes as a club for another 90 years.
