The profile
On 26 May 1961 Het Parool published a profile of AAC’s scrum-half, Mohammed “Dib” Ben Sliman. The paper introduced him as Algerian-born.
Everything below comes from that single article. It is the only contemporary source about him found so far.
Becoming Dutch
The article described his wish to gain Dutch citizenship and to play for the Netherlands. That wish belongs to the 1961 profile. The archive does not establish that either was later achieved, so the club does not present it as a completed career.
The season around him
The same profile named AAC as the reigning national champion. That makes the article doubly useful: it is also the contemporary corroboration of the 1960–61 title, a season the club archive previously had no source for.
What is still unknown
The 1961 profile is the only contemporary record found. Four things it does not give:
- His full name
- His year of birth
- His later years
- When and why he left AAC
This profile sits among the gaps the archive cannot yet fill. Anyone who knew him, or who kept something from his time at the club, can email the club.
