The match against the United States

Barbarian FC’s official player archive lists Samantha Martinez-Gion, a prop from AAC Rugby Amsterdam, in the match against the United States in Denver on 26 April 2019.

The Barbarians select by invitation. An AAC player in that shirt is the club’s clearest appearance in one of the best-known invitational sides in the game.

The line runs from the AAC front row to the Netherlands, to the Barbarians, and back. Rugby Europe later listed her as a Netherlands assistant coach.

What is not established

It is sometimes said that she was the first Dutch woman to play for the Barbarians. The official Barbarian FC archive does not confirm that, so AAC does not use the description.
