First XV retain Ereklasse status
A tenth-place finish keeps the men in the Dutch top flight for the 2026–27 season.
AAC’s men have secured their place in the Ereklasse for 2026–27, finishing the regular season tenth of twelve and clear of the relegation play-offs.
It was always going to be a building year. The first XV opened what the club has called a new project, a refreshed coaching team and a squad drawn from more than twenty nationalities, against the established weight of the Dutch top division. Five wins came from twenty-two rounds: home and away over Bredase RC, home and away over Castricum RC, and a hard-fought home win against Hoek van Holland.
Survival was the season’s first target, and it is done. The focus now turns to pre-season and a second year in which the project is expected to take clearer shape.
The men train through the summer at Sportpark De Eendracht, and new players are welcome at any session.
